During his opening statement at the weekly Cabinet meeting, held in Ramallah today, Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Shtayyeh warned of the unprecedented dangerous developments in the Israeli colonial project that seem to be an escalated and intense attack plan for the next ten weeks to impose a new status quo before Trump leaves office.

“We call upon the international community's members to reject Pompeo's visit and impose a total ban on Israeli settlement products. The Palestinian government will take every possible legal measure against any companies or investors in Israeli settlements,” the Prime Minister stated.

“We express our profound concern regarding Israeli settlers' trips to an Arab country in search of potential markets and investors. We call upon the Arab League to follow up on this matter and act accordingly,” the Prime Minister added.

The Prime Minister also called on the world to fulfill its duties and prevent the Israeli aggression. “Every step and each new settlement unit represent a colonial project to annex our lands. We will utilize all possible measures in the face of these decisions, legislations, and Israeli colonial projects,” the Prime Minister said.

“The new Israeli colonial-settlement projects in occupied Palestine include plans for units and roads that aim to encircle the Palestinian neighborhoods in Jerusalem, further; disconnecting the city from the remaining West Bank towards its complete isolation,” The Prime Minister continued.

In addition, the Prime Minister condemned the ongoing Israeli settler violence and attacks on the Palestinian people and their continued raids on the Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound. He said, “We demand an end to these attacks as they constitute a blatant violation of the sanctity of the second holiest place in Islam and for Muslims.”

The Prime Minister also noted that Israel continues to detain the body of the martyr prisoner Kamal Abu Waer, who died in Israeli prison due to deliberate medical negligence.  To conclude, he called upon the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN to pressure Israel, the occupying power to release all our martyrs' bodies.
