Key Achievements of PM Al-Hamdallah Government

This series of documentary videos aim to shed light on the key achievements made by the Palestinian Government since its formation on 02/06/2014 to date, reflecting the depth of the national responsibility towards Palestinian citizens.
 
The production of this work comes at a critical stage, with the government taking on more functions and procedures to face the internal division, and the three devastating Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, as well as the ongoing Israeli illegal colonial activities and violations in the occupied West Bank. Above all, the illegal decision of the Trump administration to relocate its embassy to Occupied Jerusalem and recognize the Holy City as the capital for the Occupying Power, which is another step in promoting the culture of colonization.
 
These achievements are a result of the hard work of the Palestinian Government, headed by PM Rami Al- Hamdallah upon the supervision and directions of H.E. President Mahmoud Abbas.  The different episodes of this series represent part of the government’s campaign to represent the fragile gains of the government in favor of our citizens to support their resilience especially in the so-called area “C”.
 
The government has been giving great value to priority issues upon its National Policy Agenda (2017 -2021) in various sectors including infrastructure, education, health, development and social protection, the prosperity of our national economy and the promotion of the principles of good governance, respect for human rights, freedom of expression to achieve the ultimate objective of living in a democratic independent Palestine.
 
Austerity Program
 
 

Despite The international community financial aid cutoffs to Palestine by more than 70%, to blackmail the Palestinian government through political capital, as a response to the efforts of the Palestinian leadership, led by President Abbas, to join international treaties and organizations, starting with the recognition of Palestine as a non-member state in the United Nations.

Nevertheless, the Palestinian government, chaired by PM Al-Hamdallah, imposed an austerity program and expenditures rationalization plan. The government was able to maintain regularity of salaries over the past years, reduce the budget deficit from 5 billion and 675.3 million NIS in 2014, to 4 billion and 436 million in 2017, which represent a reduction by 21.8%.
 
The government has also scheduled the debts owed to the private sector, especially the Palestinian Pension Authority, by paying a monthly amount of 10 million in 2014, which were raised to 20 million in 2016-17, and then 25 million in 2018.
 
The government also committed to scheduling the debts owed to private hospitals, especially hospitals in occupied Jerusalem, to paying 15 million NIS monthly.
 
In addition to the implementation of the daily and weekly mechanisms of cash transfers to some ministries and government institutions that have todeliver core services to citizens such as the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Public Workers and the Ministry of Local Government, and the security forces where these institutions committed to paying these debts, which contributed to the stability of institutions benefiting from civil and private institutions.
